Is DP Contracting & Consulting, Inc. licensed, bonded, and insured?

Yes, DP Contracting & Consulting, Inc. is a Licensed Building General Contractor in North Carolina and is bonded and properly insured for your protection. At your request, we will provide a General Liabilities and Worker’s Compensation certificate in your name.

How is DP Contracting & Consulting different from other remodeling companies?

Unlike many remodeling and renovation companies who only specialize in window replacement, gutters or roofing, or cabinets, DP Contracting & Consulting, Inc. has the experience and ability to turn-key a project to include a variety of items of varying interior and exterior spaces as a whole project. This enables you to work with one contractor managing your home, the peace of mind regarding those working within your home, and minimal disruption to your daily routine in lieu of you the customer trying to manage a multitude of subcontractors and companies.

Are their financing options available to me?

Yes, DP Contracting and Consulting Inc. accepts cash, check and credit cards (Visa, Master Card, American Express and Discover). We also have preferred financial institutions we work with to provide you the best financing options for your budget. 203K Loans are one of the best finance options available today. You can refinance the existing mortgage and combine it with home improvement costs into a new mortgage, therefore avoiding high interest rates associated with interim financing. The loan is based on the home’s projected value after improvements are made. A 203 (k) mortgage is administered through the Federal Housing Administration. Learn more on the Department of Housing and Urban Development website.

We also work with you regarding Home Equity Lines of Credit or Home Equity Loan, Cash-out Refinance, Personal Loan Programs and other conventional loan programs.

Can DP Contracting help us with our Home Owner’s Association, Historical Society, and Condo Association approval for the project?

Yes, we work with you on the requirements of your Home Owner’s Association (HOA), Historical Society, and Condo Association. This means we will collect all contact information from you and we will fill out all required applications and any submittals as required. We will provide follow up and keep you informed until the process is complete.

Does DP Contracting work with Insurance claims?

Yes, we have processed numerous insurance claims for roofing, fire, and water damage. Your insurance company will send out an adjuster to provide you with a report listing all visible damage at time of inspection and estimate for repairs; or they may request us as your contractor to provide the estimate. We will thoroughly review the adjuster’s report and materials and labor required to make the repairs which are based on replacement costs only and do not account for any upgrades you may desire. We will assist in filing all necessary forms and supplements as required. Your only expense will be your deductible.

How long will it take to complete my remodeling job?

The time frame for your project will vary depending on the range of the remodels. Small jobs such as kitchens and bathrooms can take anywhere between one week to one month whereas an entire house can take up to six months. A time estimate will be provided after the scope of work has been assessed and a production schedule provided detailing the estimated time line for your project.

What if I want to make changes once the work has begun?

DP Contracting is in the “YES BUSINESS”, thus changes can be incorporated during the project. The costs associated with the requested change(s) and any adjustment necessary to the production schedule will be provided for your approval on our Change Order Form.

Can I do any of the remodeling work myself to help control costs?

Yes, DP Contracting’s Cooperative Remodeling program enables you to manage your budget by doing some of the work yourself such as removing fixtures, flooring or demolition, or painting we will detail these items in our construction agreement. These items will be detailed in our remodeling agreement. However, sometimes the inconvenience may outweigh the savings.  If you are not aware of the laws that govern your ability to remodel your home (such as if you have a home owners association or need a permit), or cause damage to any electrical, plumbing, or mechanical items; or reduce the integrity of any load bearing structures of the home these may result in additional costs not covered in the signed remodeling agreement.
